during a residents friendly match Keith landed 2 of our famous Lonsdale Roach that together weighed in over 5lbs!

As you can see we've enjoyed our share of sunshine! The forecast for the next 10 days looks good to us too - for anglers and fish alike!

Pattell Party are having a beano!

In other news we had a 20lb Pike out yesterday evening to angler Terry (affectionately known as Uncle Albert to those of us who know him)!

Tinka tinka!

As Dad predicted the fish are loving Cotswolds Baits (as are anglers who are getting £33 worth of bait in a bucket costing just £22), 

and with the lovely early summer mornings and just a little nip of frost in the nights the Tench are really starting to show.

Wandering around for a first chat with folks this week Dad lost track of exactly who caught what, but he can report that the overall stamp of fish seemed around the 6lb + mark and it looks good for the week ahead!

Meanwhile we've been busy at work on structural park jobs over the weekend with lots of things from strimming back the lane up through the park, to remedying the odd hole in a peg, to removing the old play tower close to the lodges.

On Golden Pond

Many of you have heard Dad and I talking about a film we love called "On Golden Pond" starring Katherine Hepburn and Henry Fonda, where a grumpy old man and his unlikely young apprentice set out in the pursuit of 'Walter' the mythical monster trout.
Inspired by this Dad is in pursuit of his very own Walter - a monster carp resident in the Willows on our sister site.
But I think for me, our own Golden Pond has to be Lonsdale in the spring and summer evenings when the sun is low in the sky, the birds have their chicks in tow, and the carp are crusing just beneath the surface.
